A Midsummer Nights Dream -A shortened version in modern english: The aim of this series is to provide introductions to some of Shakespeares more popular plays. The difficulty of the original language means that some adults and many schoolchildren see the plays as at best hard work and at worst impenetrable. Their aim is to present the plot, the characters and the spirit of the originals in a way that will have an immediate appeal for such readers in a shortened version and modern english of the stage.
