The Semiotics of Theatre and Drama: Theatrical performance constitutes one of the richest and most complex forms of communication. For the semiotican, the theatre represents both and ideal laboratory – since pratically all signifying modes and all communicational codes are potentially at work – and a dauting embarrasment of riches wich raise all the fundamental problems of semiotic analysis.
