This is a work in 2 volumes, edited by the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, with organization by researchers Russel A. Mittermeier and Adelmar Coimbra-Filho (in the 2nd volume we also have the participation of Gustavo A.B. Fonseca). In the 1st book, its first three chapters describe the systematics and fossil history of neotropical primates. The following 8 chapters examine individual species: Goeldis Monkey, the Night Monkeys, the Titi Monkeys, the Squirrel Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys, Saki Monkeys, Bearded Sakis, and Uakaris.
